Salamander Bay
The town of Salamander Bay is named after the nearby shallow bay, which is named after the “Salamander”, a Third Fleet convict ship from which was the first European vessel to enter Port Stephens in 1791.. The town is now mostly a residential suburb with a centrally located, large shopping centre – the Salamander Bay Square at: 2 Town Centre Cct, Salamander Bay, NSW 2317.. It’s hard to talk about Bay Area produce and not mention Zuckerman Farms, and it seems chefs feel the same way considering that tthe Stockton-based outfit makes plenty of appearances on menus.
