The Java Collections Framework was a major addition in JDK 1.2. It added many powerful data structures that accelerate development of most significant Java applications. Since that time it has become the recognised standard for collection handling in Java. Commons-Collections seek to build upon the JDK classes by providing new interfaces.

These are the release notes for Commons Collections 3.2.1: Commons collections is a project to develop and maintain collection classes based on and inspired by the JDK collection framework. This project is Java 1.2 compatible, and does not use Java 5 generics. This 3.2.1 release is simply a re-packaging of the 3.2 release, with appropriate OSGi.. Check compatibility with different libraries : common-collections4.4.3.jar is compatible with commons-lang.3.8.jar. we tried with both 3.8 as well as 3.12. The issues still persists. As per a quick search on the internet, it was suggested to go back to previous version, which is not possible in the project, due to security reasons.
